BenQ has launched the SW270C, the newest monitor in its PhotoVue Photographer Photo Editing Monitor Series. The new 16:9 27-inch IPS monitor (2560 x 1440 at 60 Hz) features hardware color calibration and BenQ’s new Color Uniformity Technology, which keeps color accurate across the entire width and height of the monitor alongside its AQColor technology.

BenQ says the SW270C covers 99 percent of Adobe RGB, 100 percent of sRGB/Rec. 709 and 96% of DCI-P3/Display P3 with Delta Ewith the 16-bit LUT to improve RGB color blending accuracy, the monitor creates impeccable color reproduction and renders the truest and most representative view of original imagery. ’

The SW270C features HDR10 support, 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness rating, 16-bit LUT and includes ‘a native cadence for 24p and 25p content, so that film content shot at 24 or 25 fps can be played back without a pulldown. ’

BenQ has also added its updated Hotkey Puck, which enables quick setting changes to color modes and features via an intuitive control dial on the base of the display.

On the I/O front, the SW270C features two HDMI 2. 0 ports, one DisplayPort 1. 4 port, two USB 3. 1 ports, a USB-C port (with 60W power delivery in addition to data, video and audio) and a single SD card slot with support for SD/SDHC/SDXC/MMC cards. Also included is a shading hood for reducing glare from ambient light sources and a monitor stand that simply pops off to reveal a VESA mounting point.
