DJI is well known for leading the market when it comes to drones, and has enjoyed dominance thanks to awesome models such as the Phantom, Mavic and Spark drones. Well, now the China-based company is looking to move to new premises and its new home looks like a purpose-built heaven for drone enthusiasts.
Architecture firm Foster + Partners has pulled the covers off designs for DJI’s new headquarters in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, which is already under construction and images of how the building will look emerged on The Architects' Journal website, showcasing the stunning scale and design of the new building.
The building will include twin towers that are linked by a sky bridge that Foster + Partners say; “will also double up as a platform for the firm to showcase its latest technology”. But there’s more, as the press release explained that facilities at the new headquarters will also include state-of-the-art gyms, ‘robot fighting rings’, a new theatre for product launches and a public exhibition space.
A glossy video that accompanied the press release shows what the finished building would look like, including labs full of drones and a flurry of drones being released from that impressive sky bridge. Grant Brooker from Foster + Partners said; “Our aim is to create a unique workplace environment that embodies the spirit of invention and innovation that has allowed DJI to lead the world in robotics and technology. ’
No completion date for DJI’s new HQ has been stated, but you can watch the video below…
