On Saturday 3rd July 2021, I decided that I wanted to practice some photography and create something, so I set to YouTube for some inspiration. I came across a Viking warrior makeup tutorial and created the first image.
We have all felt the effects of lockdown. Those moments where you want to be somewhere else, but can't be bothered to get dressed. I made the most of lockdown life in my pajamas by transforming myself into a world of fantasy.
I'm a portrait photographer from Tel Aviv, Israel and my passion is creating magical portraits of my friends, and showing their alter egos. I use mostly natural light and accessories, and after the shoot I add some fantasy elements in Photoshop that help to express the imaginative world.
After years of severe depression and losing track of days not to mention who I used to be, I found that somewhere along the way I stopped caring. Missed outings with friends, existing in a pervasive fog of emptiness and even the thirty pounds I put on didn't matter to me.
The photoshoot was done in 1 hour, I just made pictures of myself with the matching hairstyle and makeup, and then matched with the photos of each animal. The manipulation took me up to 20 hours for each. I observed the angle, lighting, colour and texture.
During my first episode of depression, I was reclusive thereby I subsequently locked myself in my apartment for one year, I cut myself off from my family, friends, I stopped studying, I only went out at night.
