The Fujifilm GF 80mm F1.7 R WR Is a 63mm G1.3 Equivalent Lens for the GF System

When the Fujifilm GF system launched, one of the first lenses that I expected was the Fujifilm GF 80mm f1. 7 R WR. But that consistently was not what we were getting. What I was always told was that "Medium format is hard to make this for!" But I'd always respond with a reminder that the GF format is larger than full-frame, but it isn't a proper medium format system since it doesn't even reach a 645 sensor size. thephoblographer.com »

Gear of the year 2019: Barney's choice (part 2) Nikon Z 50mm F1.8 S

An Honest Question: How Much Dynamic Range Do You Really Need?

A question that I've been wondering for many years now is just how much dynamic range photographers truly need. We can geek out about it all day and night, but how far does this go before we get into complete negligence of good picture taking methods? Lots of the magic of landscape photography can happen in post unless you have custom profiles on your camera to get it right then and there. thephoblographer.com »

Hands on with the Canon EOS M6 II

Introduction Canon's just officially launched the newest member of its APS-C mirrorless lineup, the EOS M6 Mark II. We were a little surprised to hear from Canon that the M6 II effectively replaces both the EOS M5 and EOS M6 models, so you're looking at the newest flagship for the EOS M system (and two of three M6 II US bundles include an external EVF, which helps to mitigate the most prominent difference between the two previous models anyhow). dpreview.com »
