Panasonic has announced the world's first 8K high-resolution global shutter technology. This can capture 36 megapixel images at 60fps using a CMOS image sensor with an organic photoconductive film (OPF).
Utilizing the global shutter function that enables simultaneous image capture by all pixels, Panasonic expect to be able to capture moving objects instantaneously without distortion. Will we see this sensor used in the successor to the GH5/GH5s cameras?
