To get an idea of the possible size of this lens: Canon EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II USM Lens vs Sony 70-400mm lens (via CameraSize). – I am 90% certain Sony will launch 400mm FE lens during the second half of the year.
A-mount owners will have to wait to get these lenses. Because according to Nokishita there will be Canon and Nikon version only. Usually Tamron does announce A-mount versions 6-9 months later but so far this is not confirmed.
