Sony have today announced a new firmware update for the Alpha 7S III camera which adds S-Cinetone and Active Mode.
Version 2. 00 allows users to utilise S-Cinetone, the advanced cinematic colour science for richer tonal reproduction. S-Cinetone delivers natural mid-tones that are essential to healthy-looking skin colour, plus soft colours and gorgeous highlights.
It is based on technology acquired through development of VENICE digital motion picture camera, and is currently available in FX9, FX6 and new FX3 full-frame cameras.
The new firmware also includes an update on Active Mode with 5-axis optical in-body image stabilisation.
