We have been told that the new PowerShot V1 will be shown to retailers in the coming month or so, but it doesn’t look like we’ll see it announced before CP+ later this month. However, if that changes, all the better.

It seems that someone snagged a photo of a future Canon camera, with the identifier of Canon EOS RV. It’s a compact camera looking to have a similar frame to the PowerShot V1. The Canon EOS RV will be one of three new RF mount camera segments being added to the Canon lineup in 2025.
The Photography trends of yesterday, seem to be making a comeback today. We are seeing growth in 35 and 120 film, there is the obvious boom of instant cameras, the return of the fixed lens compact, such as the Canon PowerShot V1 and it looks like the next thing will be “retro” styled cameras.

Canon’s supertelephoto lenses are the stuff of legend. They have always been insanely reliable, built like tanks and optical quality that has always been superb. Somehow, with each iteration of their lenses, they get better.
After every announcement, there’s always the desire to know what’s coming next. The Canon PowerShot V1 was announced in Asia as you know, but when it will come to the rest of the world could be up in the air.
