Wildlife Extinction: Should I Watch Or Interfere?

When I was young, I was fascinated by a black and white video of what was thought to be the last Tasmanian Tiger, that died in 1936. To me as a child, the idea that this animal became extinct under human watch seemed incomprehensible.
