Modern Day Sleuth: Man Uses Drone to Catch His Cheating Wife

Well this is a little odd, and as some people have commented on Reddit, also a little suspicious – but regardless it’s the first time we’ve ever heard of someone using their drone to spy on their spouse.

An aspiring YouTuber called YAOG heard a tip off from a mutual acquaintance that his wife was seen with another man, and when his attempts to follow her by car didn’t work, he opted to call in air support.

Apparently he noticed she had been leaving work earlier than usual, and rather than confronting her, he decided to go sleuthing by himself. This certainly brings to mind Sweden’s recent decision to ban aerial photography by consumers, which went to great lengths to point out that drones can very easily be used as surveillance equipment.

The video begins with a brief explanation of how it came to be, before we join the man in the air as his drones hovers across a small town. He tracks, and enhances for confirmation, his wife as she takes a detour on the way to work. Eventually she makes her way over to a parking lot, where she presumably meets her lover, and they disappear into a car.

Despite the fact that YAOG has quite a lot of subscribers, he insists that he isn’t doing this for the fame, and merely wants to get some sort of revenge on his wife. He has stated on Reddit that he doesn’t mind getting a little payment from the video, since it would help him pay for lawyer fees. As of now, the video has already been sold to one of those media companies that buy viral videos and sell out their rights.

So what do you guys think? Is this a legitimate use of a drone? Is it completely fake? Or is it genuinely terrifying, and a good example of why Sweden banned drone photography for non-professionals?
