On February 14 Canon will launch a new $1599 entry level Canon EOS-RP Full Frame mirrorless. Sony seems to have learned about that and tomorrow they will launch the first ever discount on the Sony A7III.
The FCCID registered a new Sony camera and as you can see from the image on top it has the exact same dimension as the current RX0. We have no specs for this camera but it confirms the validity of Nokishita rumors.

The full Panasonic S1-S1R cameras and S lens specs have been leaked over at L-rumors. com. I noticed within the specs that these cameras are likely to be the first to use the new Sony made 5. 6 million dots EVF with 240 fps.
In February we will get new Full Frame mirrorless cameras from the competition: Panasonic: The image on top shows the production ready S1 with the 24-105mm f/4. 0 lens. This new Full Frame Mirrorless will be announced long the S1R and two more S lenses on Jan31-Feb1.
Today Sony registered a new camera code which is 99% likely to become the new RX0. But Nokishita added one more info. Sony will announce a new E-mount mirrorless camera “in the first half of 2019” From the info I gathered this is highly unlikely to be the new Sony A7sIII.
Today Sony regsitered a new camera: It has the code “WW151602” and uses the “Sony NP-BJ1” battery. This battery is used by the RX0 camera and so it looks like we are getting a new RX0II model.
We just got whispers about the next Sony press event that will happen within the next 3-4 weeks. The only 80% reliable rumor we got is that Sony will finally announce new E-mount lenses. 99% reliable is the rumor saying that we will NOT(!) get a new A7sIII any time soon.

Three highly reliable sources confirmed Sony has a product launch event this week. One of the three sources gave me those info: 1) The announcement is tomorrow (Tuesday) between 4-6pm London time.

I am getting some more confirmation that indeed Sony has organized a major Journalists and Blogger gathering for next week. This is by far no 100% reliable proof that there might be a product announcement.
Well this is an exciting news: I just spotted these newly published Sony patents describing the optical design of two new fast lenses: 135mm f/1. 8 FE 100mm f/1. 4 FE Of course a patent is never a guarantee that Sony will bring those lenses into mass production.
Sony’s competition isn’t sleeping and there are quite some news to report: Sharp: This is a surprise. Sharp is the first company announcing an 8K mirrorless system camera. It has a MFT mount and full specs will be unveiled at NAB show in April.

We are getting closer to two major Sony events: Event ONE: Sony will have an official press conference and product announcement day on January 7 at 5pm Las Vegas time. Usually Sony doesn’t announce new E-mount gear at CES.

One of my sources just sent me this video of the new 50mm f/1. 0 Full Frame autofocus E-mount lens! This lens is rumored to be made by Yongnou but this has yet to be confirmed. They already make AF lenses for Canon and Nikon (they are on sale here on Amazon US, Amazon DE).
Other rumor sites keep deliberately posting specs and images they found on this Weibo page. That page has a history for posting fakes and nevertheless the other rumor sites post info from the site as “rumor”.
The fake A5500 inmages There are other rumor sites that keep reposting FAKE rumors they found on a specific Weibo site. First they reposted a fake rumor about an A7sIII announcement in January which is 100% NOT going to happen.
Our Asian source sent us the info about two new APS-C sensors. The first (IMX510) is a High End sensor and the second (IMX571) and Entry Level sensor: APS-C Exmor RS sensor IMX510: Effective pixel 32MP (3:2 APS-C) Total Pixel 40MP 3.
A reliable Asian Source sent me this image showing the f/1. 1 aperture of a new 50mm f/1. 1 FE autofocus lens that will be announced soon. It is made by a Chinese manufacturer. I am yet not 100% sure about the brand but it’s rumored that this might be made by Yongnuo.

I got some more screenshots unveiling tidbits about the new Sony 60Mp 8K Full Frame sensors: What’s interesting is that it has 64 native ISO. This is a hell of sensor! But keep in mind that usually cameras do not use the full potential of the sesnor because of processing hardware limits and overheating issues.
10 days ago I leaked the info about the new 60MP and 36MP with 16bit and 8K recording. Some still didn’t trust my SR5 rumor but today I am happy to share the full spec sheet of the new 36MP sensor.
