Sirui reveals its new Jupiter FF cine lens line with 3 primes and a 3x zoom

Chinese lens manufacturer Sirui has introduced a series of cinema lenses for full frame sensors, starting with three fast primes and a 3x fixed aperture zoom lens. The new Jupiter series will comprise a 24mm T2 lens, a 35mm T2 and a 50mm T2 as well as a 28-85mm T3.

2 zoom. The set of primes are designed with matching focus and iris ring positions for easy switching in a rig, and each will have a 92mm filter thread. Sirui claims these primes are all macro lenses with a closest focus distance of 24mm/0. 79ft, and that focus breathing has been kept to a minimum.

The 28-85mm T3. 2 zoom has a 110mm filter thread, a par-focus design that doesn’t require focus correction as you zoom and a covering circle of 44mm to make it suitable for sensors larger than the standard 35mm full frame, such as the Arri Alexa LF models and the Fujifilm GFX cameras, for example.

All of the lenses use an 11-bladed iris, have a minimum aperture of T22 and will come in PL and EF mounts. Sirui will also be selling adapters for E and RF mounts.

The lenses will be launched via an Indiegogo campaign on 9th May with shipping seemingly due to begin on the same day. The primes will each cost $999 at full retail but can be had for $799 on the early-bird discount. A set of the three primes together will cost $2238 instead of $2797. The zoom will retail for $2899 but can be had for $2319, while a set of all four lenses is discounted to $4399 from an eventual price of $5499. The PL to E or RF adapters will cost a further $119 and the EF to RF and E adapters will be $79.
