BenQ has announced the SW271C 4K 27" monitor. The new 4K display builds upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, the SW271, in 2017. The SW271C promises accurate colors, improved workflow tools and better features than the SW271.

The SW271C retains the same 3840 x 2160 resolution as its predecessor and this time supports HLG in addition to HDR10. In terms of color space performance, the SW271C displays 100% of sRGB, 99% of AdobeRGB and 90% of P3.

The SW271C can easily be rotated between landscape and portrait orientations.

The display features BenQ's proprietary AQCOLOR color accuracy technology and has a 16-bit 3D LUT with Delta E W271C comes calibrated from the manufacturer, and the factory calibration report is included in the box with the monitor.

Using the new Hotkey Puck Gen 2, users can quickly swap between different color profiles, adjust settings and access features, such as Uniformity Technology and Paper Color Sync software. Uniformity technology ensures uniformity across the display by fine-tuning hundreds of sub-regions across the panel for balanced brightness. Paper Color Sync produces simulated previews for different color settings, printers and paper types, allowing you to preview a photographic print on your display.

The HotKey Puck Gen2 allows users to quickly access presets, adjust settings and enable various modes and features.

Using the Hotkey Puck Gen 2, advanced black and white modes and GamutDuo mode can also be enabled. You can preview color photos in any of three preset black and white settings before editing. With GamutDuo, you can preview the same image in two color gamuts side-by-side.

The SW271C introduces a few new features to appeal to videographers. Beyond HDR10 and HLG support, the display can also display 24p, 25p and 30p video content at native frame rates. Further, select SDI to HDMI devices are compatible with the SW271C, allowing videographers to transfer uncompressed video to the display.

The SW271C has many connections. It has a USB-C port with power delivery (60W), two HDMI 2. 0 ports, DisplayPort 1. 4, USB Type B (upstream) and two USB 3. 1 (downstream) ports. The monitor also has an SD card reader. The SW271C ships with a removable shading hood which is usable in landscape and portrait orientation.
