Keith over at Northlight Images has uncovered a large number of sensor patents from Canon. When you put all of these together, you get some interesting full frame sensors that will work with lenses that are quite close.
Things are really heating up lately in terms of lens offerings from all the top manufacturers. According to Canon Rumors, Canon has recently filed a patent for a new EF 300mm f/2.8L IS Lens. Initially just a rumor, the website had posted previously that the lens was well into development and this latest patent filing seems to confirm their findings.
