A soft release button is usually the lowest cost item in any Leica store, but if it feels wrong screwing a $20 disk into the shutter release post of your $7000 M body help is on hand from precious metal designer Bashert Jewelry.
The US jeweler is offering a range of soft release buttons handcrafted in solid Sterling Silver that come at a much more appropriate price.
There are six designs to choose from, including classic blossom, a compass inspired motif as well as a Windows-style Ctrl button.
The buttons are finished with polished raised designs against an oxidized background, and feature a concave surface to fit the tip of a shutter finger. As with Leica’s own buttons, these screw into the cable release socket of any M camera to provide a larger and more comfortable finger-target when shooting.
The Leica M Soft Release Buttons cost $249, but the first 100 orders will receive a $50 discount. For more information see the Bashert Jewelry website.
