Venus Optics has announced that it’s adding more mounting options for two of its full-frame mirrorless lenses: the Laowa 15mm F2 Zero-D lens and the Laowa 10-18mm F4. 5-5. 6 lens. Laowa 15mm F2 ‘Zero-D’ Venus Optics claims the Laowa 15mm F2 ‘Zero-D’ is the widest F2 rectilinear native lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras.

Like Laowa’s other ‘Zero-D’ lenses, the lens is designed to have minimal distortion despite its short focal length.

The Laowa 15mm F2 ‘Zero-D’ is now available for Canon’s RF mount and Nikon’s Z mount and features 12 elements in 9 groups, including two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements. It has a minimum focusing distance of 15cm (5. 9in), five aperture blades (compared to the seven found in the Sony E mount version), a 72mm front filter thread, weighs 500g (1. 1lbs) and measures just 82mm (3. 3in) long. The new models also feature the same ability to de-click the aperture ring.

The Canon RF and Nikon Z mount versions of this lens retail for the same $849 price point as their Sony E mount counterpart and are available to purchase through Laowa’s website.

Laowa 10-18mm F4. 5-5. 6 Zoom

In continuing on with its world-record claims, Venus Optics says the Laowa 10-18mm F4. 5-5. 6 Zoom is ‘currently the widest full frame zoom lens in the market’ and is ‘the smallest in its class. ’ Interestingly, this particular lens has only been adapted for Nikon’s Z mount—not Canon’s RF mount.

The Laowa 10-18mm F4. 5-5. 6 Zoom is constructed of 14 elements in 10 groups, including two aspherical elements and one extra-low dispersion element. It has a minimum focusing distance of 15cm (5. 9in), five aperture blades, a 37mm rear filter thread, weighs 500g (1. 1lbs) and measures 87mm (3. 7in) long. Like its Sony E mount counterpart, it too has the ability to de-click the aperture ring.

Below is a little sample video shot with the lens on a Nikon Z7 camera:

The Nikon Z mount version retails for $849, the same as the Sony E mount model. It’s available to purchase on Laowa’s website.
