Ins and outs of ISO: where ISO gets complex

Fujifilm's GFX 50S stops adding analog amplification when it gets to ISO 1600, with all ISOs above that using lighter and lighter tone curves. This means that, by ISO 12,800, there are three stops of fully recoverable highlights that would have been lost if the camera had applied more analog gain, making it possible to produce a very different rendering of the scene. dpreview.com »
