Nikon has announced the release of a new 660GB CFexpress Type B memory card with read and write speeds of 1700MB/s and 1500MB/s, respectively. Nikon says the card, called the MC-CF660G, is ‘the perfect memory card for recording video and stills’ with its new Z9 full-frame mirrorless camera.
Specifically, Nikon says it’s ‘especially ideal for recording video in the 8. 3K/60p N-RAW format, and for video recording over extended periods of time. ’
The MC-CF660G is currently listed for $726. 99 on B&H, which equates to roughly $1. 10/GB. This is a bit higher than CFexpress Type B cards from the likes of SanDisk, Delkin Devices, Lexar, Sony, OWC and others, which tend to average under $1/GB for cards with similar read and write speeds.
