CRCHalifax is the perfect YouTube subscription for those interested in seeing a camera torn down to its base parts and then lovingly put back together again in a brand new state. So far the channel has released two refurbishment videos since it started uploading two months ago.
The first teardown sees a Pentax K1000 film camera opened up and repaired from the inside to immaculate condition.
The channel says that the recordings were taken during a 3-4 hour overhaul of a first edition K1000 from 1976. It was also one of the dirtiest Pentax cameras they had encountered in a long while.
The second teardown shows a familiar Canon EOS 7D repaired and having its sensor cleaned to a brand new state. This time the cleaning took two hours giving us room to ponder how much time is needed to repair a lightly toasted EOS 7D?
CRCHalifax is operated by Camera Repair Centre, a small independent camera repair shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia with 42 years of experience.
