The New Yorker sends comedian Marc Philippe Eskenazi out into the streets in this satirical short which takes a sharp jab at the bizarre nature of selfie stick photography. Eskenazi, a self-proclaimed professional selfie stick photographer, enters the lives of strangers by interrupting them and asking if they need help taking their selfie stick photo.
Through various trials and tribulations the photographer manages to pull off some “aspirational shots” much to the beleaguerment of his subjects.
While we’re sure some people would love the help of a professional selfie stick photographer, chances are you just need a long enough stick to pull the correct shot off. For that, we’d probably recommend Dan Chung’s pole. Probably.
