Rumours suggest Canon 6D MkII Launch is Just Days Away
ФОТО: digitalrev.com

A few weeks ago we reported on the massive spike in web traffic reporting on rumoured specifications for the forthcoming replacement for Canon’s popular and accessible full-frame EOS 6D DSLR. Well, it seems the wait is all but over as the Canon Rumours website is reporting that the Canon 6D MkII is set for a June 29 release, with orders shipping in August.

What’s more, Canon Rumours has updated the list of expected specifications and it appears the 6D MkII will feature a newly developed 26-megapixel sensor paired with a DIGIC 7 processor. This is an increase of just 6-MP over the original 20. 2-MP Canon 6D DSLR, which was launched in 2012.

Rumours suggest the 6D MkII will boast 26-megapixels, but no 4K video!

The rumoured claims of a 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen LCD are repeated, but it seems video quality will be limited to Full HD, meaning those hoping for ultra high-quality 4K will have to look elsewhere. However, reports suggest there could be an ‘HDR movie mode’, plus a ‘time-lapse’ movie mode.

When it comes to the autofocus system, Canon Rumours is reporting the camera is likely to feature a Dual-Pixel 45-point AF set-up, which is a huge increase on the original 6D’s 11-point system. Lastly, the final updated rumours point to a taller and bigger body design, along with a newly designed battery grip.

Expect more specifications to come to light over the next few days as Canon prepares to launch a massively important camera for full-frame shooters. And, one interesting note to end with - while preparing this article, we noticed the original EOS 6D has already been removed from Canon’s official image resource, which typically means an new launch is imminent!
