"I agree with Eliott Erwitt’s idea that black and white photography is interpretive," says fashion photographer Shanyn Fiske.   "I do think of photography as interpretation, and monochrome most easily lends itself to that goal, especially when I’m trying to capture an emotion or a fleeting thought.

" Shanyn doesn't describe herself as a typical fashion photographer. She's a late bloomer per se. She came from the academic world and adores many of the studies around paintings, photography and literature.
