Sigma has been on an absolute tear with their lenses the past several years, this is not news, we all know this. They have been making childs play of OEM brand lenses from Canon and Nikon, but one brand that still always managed to best them (granted at a considerable premium in price) was Zeiss. thephoblographer.com »

ZEISS has issued an apology after a promotional photoshoot featuring its latest Otus lens struck a negative chord with a large number of the brand’s followers on Twitter, who accused the brand of being sexist.
In the pantheon of lens focal lengths, 28mm is a bit of an outlier. Photojournalists are more apt to reach for the 35mm, while many manufacturers have settled on 24mm for primes and the wide end of their zoom lenses.
DxOMark just finished testing Sony’s 85mm f/1. 4 GM lens, part of Sony’s uncompromising new line of G Master lenses. And the results show that Sony really did leave out the compromise; in fact, it looks like the 85mm f/1.
