Leica have quietly unveiled the Leica M-E (Typ 240) full-frame mirrorless camera, which is essentially a standard Leica M that can now shoot video.
Finished in a new anthracite grey paint with genuine leather trim, the M-E can shoot 1080p, full-HD movies with the classic ‘Leica look’ via a dedicated recording button, but unlike most cameras released in 2019, it can't manage 4K quality.
Other standout features of the Lecia M-E will be familiar to Leica M owners - 24MP CMOS sensor, ISO 6400, 2GB buffer memory and the usual Leica attention to detail. The M-E is is also compatible with virtually every M lens ever produced.
The new Leica M-E will be available to buy from the end of July, with the price still to be announced.
