Almost 10 years ago Sony announced the Rx1RII fixed-lens full frame camera. Mark Galer tested the camera to see if it still made sense to spend money on it. What amazes me is that it is still available for $3298 at BHphoto. sonyalpharumors.com »

This is only my speculation but I suspect the Zeiss ZX1 might be the real Sony RX1RII successor. I see no reason why Sony should continue this line of cameras unless they come up with something unexpected (like curved sensor, or medium format sensor). sonyalpharumors.com »
Both the RX1 and the RX1r are no more available at Adorama and available on special order only at BHphoto. You can only see a very limited quantity in Stock at Amazon. The Swedish store Scandinavianphoto did mark the Sony RX1rII as “discontinued”. Now it’s unclear if this means that the store simply decided in solo to not sell this camera anymore or if Sony officially doesn’t ship them this camera anymore. sonyalpharumors.com »
