Yep, you read that correctly, a 1TB SD card. To put that into perspective, that’s 1000GB or, if you shoot RAW files with a typical 24-megapixel camera, over 10,000 photos-worth of storage. Lexar explains this huge capacity card features read speeds of up to 633x (95MB/s) and is a Class 10 card, with a V30 video speed recording rating.

Lexar are the first to bring a 1TB SDXC card fully to market and chose the CES Show in Las Vegas to announce that the Lexar Professional 633x SDXC UHS-I, which is expected to be rolled out imminently and will be priced at $499. 99 in the US. The announcement shows just how far the storage game has changed in just a matter of years and the ground-breaking Lexar 1TB will have particular advantages for photographers in need of greater memory for specific jobs. For example, those setting up advanced timelapse creations or wildlife photographers using motion-activated camera traps - both applications where the photographer may not easily be able to return to the camera to change the SD card.
