Sony organized some major meetings with journalists by end of May. Usually when Sony puts that kind of effort there is some related product announcement. But the chances are now increasing that we might get NOTHING at all.

SAR reader Eric sent us the link to a Lithuanian Store that listed the new Sigma 105mm f/1. 4 lens for 1. 999 Euro. I don’t know if that’s really the final price. If it is I would expect the US price to be around $1,999 too (it’s listed at BHphoto now with no pricing).
Sony reps confirmed to Dave Dugdale that the Sony A7sIII will have the color science of the Venice and FS5III camcorders. This was to be expected but it’s also the first time Sony officially confirms the A7sIII is coming.

Sources told us Sony orgnized some big events and we should expect new products to be shown/announced around mid-late May! I hope to get some details soon. From trusted sources we know that this is on Sony’s 2018 roadmap: 1) 24mm f/1.
The Japanese TV NHK interview Nikon. And the one news that might be interesting for SAr readers is this: Nikon confirmed their new mirrorless system camera will be on market by Spring 2019. So exactly one year from now.
As reported by Nokishita the price of the new Tamron 28-75mm FE lens will be 94,500 YEN. That’s exactly the same price of the Zeiss 24-70mm FE in Japan. This means we can expect the $ price to be around $1,000 (listed here at BH).
tt Sony registered a new camera code in Asia. We don’t know yet for sure but the code “WW 771132” should be either for the A7sIII or for the A6700. Usually it takes up to 2 months to see the camera announced.

I just got this from a source: Sony will have a small press conference during the World Photography Awards. It is not of large scale, so the most optimistic expectation would be a lens announcement, definitely not a new body of any kind.
Venus Optics will announce a new Laowa FE lens at the upcoming Beijing P&E show in early May. Venus Optics teases this to be “one be the biggest launch for Sony FE mount users”. The Silhouette image on top shows the new lens.

A trusted source did tell me the price of the new Sigma 70mm f/2. 8 macro lens. It will be priced at 90000JPY. I have no official price is USD and EURO. I converted them on google and price is $850 and 700 Euro.

A7III rendering created by Valley Films We now got one more “proof” that Sony will indeed announce the new Sony A7III within the next few hours at exactly 4pm Las Vegas time. I give it now a 85% chance we will finally get the A7III.
UPDATE: I did update this post with new info! Source 1: I just got the following info from a new source which is now confirmed by a trusted source: Sigma is going to announce tommorow (Feb 27) not one, but many native Sony FE Lens.
This is a new leaked image of the Sigma 105mm f/1. 4 ART lens that will be announced within 1-2 days. It shows the Canon mount version but there will be a native Sony E-mount version too. As you can see the lens without hood looks way more compact than the image leaked yesterday.

Tonight we received an “indirect” evidence that Sony is indeed going to launch the new A7III. The chances to get the A7III on Monday afternoon at the Las Vegas presentation are now at 75%.
