Time for a recap before we post some new rumors: Sony A7000: One source heard the camera might be announced before Christmas. But so far I got no confirmation from other sources and no new Sony camera has yet been registered in Asia neither.
An anonymous source sent us this first image of the new 7Artisans 60mm f/2. 8 macro APS-C E-mount lens. There is no info on the pricing and availability date yet. Just recently 7Artisans launched the 35mm f/1.
The current Sony 100-400 GM vs the Tamron 100-400mm EF lens (CameraSize). A source told me this: I got some info that Tamron should release native 100-400/5-6. 3 mid next year. One trusted source gave us a posisble timeline of the next Sony announcement. He heard the new Sony High End APS-C camera will be announced within weeks. It’s unclear yet if that means it’s coming at PhotoPlus next week or if it will be announced sometimes in November.
While I am confident the High End APS-C camera rumor is correct I still got no reliable confirmation about the possible announcement day. All I know is that this is the next camera Sony is likely to announce.
Zeiss claims the Otus line is the best lenses you can have on the market. And we will soon get a new addition with this new 100mm f/1. 4. The first images have been leaked via Nokishita. There is yet no info about pricing and official release date.
Nokishita made a recap of all cameras that have been registered in Asia and that yet have to be announced. There are two Sony compact camera models named WX700 and WX800. We noticed that latel Sony registered Higher End cameras only few days before the launch.
From trusted sources we know there is still one major announcement coming soon. Today one good source told me that he got unofficial rumors about a Sony evtn on or around October 16. Still, I rate this rumor with 50% reliability for now because I will need further confirmation.

Sony regsitered a new WX800 compact camera in Korea. It’s unlcear what improvements we can expect over the current WX500 model. Note that Sony recently also has registered a new WX700 code.

Well this is a kind of news that really is unexpected! L-rumors reports that Leica-Panasonic-Sigma created a new partnership to develop Full Frame cameras and lenses around the current Leica SL mount.

A readers spotted this image of a 24mm f/1. 4 GM lens from one of the journalists present at the Sony event. Looks like it’s the real thing! This lens should be announced between today and Sept 20.
If you believe what’s reported on Korean forums like Clien. net and SLRclub things will start to get very interesting soon. Samsung is rumored to have partnered with Fuji and Ricoh-Pentax to deliver them new APS-C and FF sensors.

We got an update on the new Sony E-mount Lens announcement. Today and Tomorrow Sony will have a E-mount lens hands-on meeting with journalist (see bealpha event on Instagram). But the official Lens announcement should be a bit later on Thursday September 20.
And the big Sony week finally arrived! We can confirm Sony has a major press conference on Thursday September 20. SAR note: We updated the rumor. While journalists are invited to test the lenses on Tuesday Sept 18 the lens news will go out on Thursday 20.

Trusted sources confirmed the September 18 event (+/- 1 day depending on time zone). They also confirmed Sony will announce new E-mount lenses. They have NO info yet about new camera announcements.

This is the bad news: I got informed that Sony has NO(!) scheduled press conference at this years Photokina. I don’t know if there will be a last minute change on this. But Sony has not occupied any press conference “slot” available at Photokina.
One of our trusted sources confirmed the Zeiss camera teaser is a real deal. The camera will be announced in the midst of the ongoing Photokina show on September 27. Smart move to avoid all the press buzz that will go one before the Photokina show.
The full Canon EOS-R specification sheet has been leaked (PDF file here). And here are some Canon PRO points versus Sony: 1) 5,655 Autofocus points (693 for the A7III): I am actually not sure if that’s a typo in their spec sheet.
