DxOMark has put Samsung's new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8, through its testing process for mobile devices and with an overall score of 88 points the S8 is on the same level as its predecessor Galaxy S7, the HTC 10 and the Sony Xperia X Performance.
With a score of 89 points the Google Pixel remains at the top spot of the DxOMark mobile ranking.
Thanks to a very good still photography performance, the Galaxy S8 achieves a photo sub-score of 88 points, just one point behind the top-ranked Google Pixel. In still photography DxO found the Samsung's main strengths to be excellent autofocus, accurate white balance and very effective noise reduction. On the downside, the S8 image show lower levels of sharpness than those of its main competitors.
