Pixelmator Pro, an image editing application for macOS, has been updated to version 1. 4 ‘Hummingbird. ’ The latest version brings an extension for the Apple Photos app on macOS, enabling users to access the full suite of Pixelmator Pro tools within the native image application.
In addition, Hummingbird adds new image templates, a zoom tool, and crop tool.
With the new Photos app extension, macOS users can access the full suite of Pixelmator Pro tools within Apple’s image application. The company explains, ‘Yes, the Pixelmator Pro editing extension is actually the entire, full-featured Pixelmator Pro app inside Photos. ’
From the Photos app, users of this extension can utilize layer-based editing and Pixelmator Pro’s various features, including the application’s GPU-powered machine learning ‘enhanced’ tools like ML Match Colors and Horizon Detection. The extension supports raw images and can be used to save adjustments and layers in Photos.
In addition to the editing extension, the Hummingbird update has added a new zoom tool with support for easily navigating in a zoomed-in image. As well, Pixelmator Pro 1. 4 has a redesigned crop tool that features a new delete mode, support for custom size cropping, and redesigned crop presets. Finally, the update brings additional image size templates for different Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch device models.
Pixelmator Pro is available in the Mac App Store for $39. 99 USD. The update is free for existing customers.
