The Coolpix A300 is an ultra-compact camera with an 8X, 25-200mm equivalent lens, 20MP CCD sensor, optical image stabilization (which Nikon calls VR), 720p video capture and a 2. 7" LCD. It provides Nikon's SnapBridge system for easy pairing with Android devices using NFC and a persistent connection with smartphones compatible with Bluetooth 4. 1. The use of Bluetooth also allows for low resolution images to be transferred to your mobile device as they are taken.
Nikon's Coolpix W100 is the company's bargain-basement rugged camera. It has a smartphone-sized 13MP CMOS sensor, 30-90mm equiv. lens, electronic VR, 1080p video capture and SnapBridge. It's waterproof to 10m/30ft, shockproof to 1. 8m/5. 4ft and freezeproof to +14F/-10C.
The Coolpix A300 will be available in February in silver for $139. The W100 is priced at $159 and comes in blue and white.
