Various sources are confirming that Apple will be set to announce new Mac products at a special event to be held next week on 27 October 2016. With the last wave of Mac models released one full year ago, the MacRumors buyer’s guide has been advising customers not to buy any products until after the long-awaited refresh of a new Apple lineup was released.
More importantly, Apple is expected to finally reveal a new MacBook Pro after four years of tinkering around with retina features and portable models.
The new Macbook Pro will be a significant update to previous models and is said to be slimmer, have a flatter keyboard, and feature a touchscreen OLED strip for displaying time, date and weather information.

The hardware event will likely be held at Apple’s Cupertino campus and will feature product announcements for a new iMac desktop, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro; in addition, to a standalone 5K monitor.
Apple is known for its intense annualisation of product launches, this has led to Mac sales taking a tumble over the past year as people have acclimatised themselves to the company’s predictable product release cycle; it can only be best described as a self-fulfilling prophecy. The good news for Apple is that once the new Macs are out sales will inevitably be booming.
