After the Sony A9III launch speculations started to go around the web that the A1II also might feature a global shutter sensor tech. I do believe that at this time this is unlikely to happen. In an interview with Photorend Canon confirmed the R1 is in development. This camera is not coming soon, more likely in 2024 and will compete against the future Sony A1II.
