For a fairly long time now, I've ditched Lightroom for Capture One and I couldn't be happier. But something that I've missed is having film profiles for my images--if not because they didn't necessarily look like film, because I just genuinely liked the look of the photos.

The SuperSense One Instant Peel Apart Film is a product that good old Doc produced to try to keep Peel Apart film alive. Fujifilm announced a few years ago that they'd be killing the format. Capture One Pro isn't as preset friendly as Lightroom is simply because of the fact that when photographers go to it, they really try to create and massage their own ideals of color into the photos. thephoblographer.com »

We're sorry. Last year, we issued a challenge to our readers to see if they could tell the difference between film and digital. Specifically, we asked readers to see if they could tell the difference between Kodak Tri-X and the Leica M10 Monochrom.
With digital photography, it's become more accessible for folks to make their images look like film. Presets are great for this. But it gets a lot more complicated with black and white. I've rarely heard someone say, "Dem tones," to a black and white photograph.
Many of you know that we've always had an affinity for film. It's important that we don't forget about this tool in photography. Truly, film is something that helps unite passionate photographers everywhere.

It started with Kodak teasing the new Kodak TMax P3200 on Instagram and Twitter--much unlike Ektachrome, Kodak TMax P3200 is actually real and you can buy it immediately. Indeed, they brought it back from the dead as the black and white film world was severely lacking in any sort of variety when it came to high ISO black and white films.
If you're a photographer that only recently got into film, you'll need to understand a number of things about Kodak. The once mighty company still makes and manufactures film but their coffers are nowhere as large as they used to be.
While I really do enjoy the look of Kodak Tri-X 400, almost nothing in black and white has made me drool like Ilford Delta 400. Ilford Delta 400 I always felt delivered those inky, beautiful black levels that I've alway been smitten with.
