Canon Asia has posted an interview article with the developers of the Canon EF 85mm f/1. 4L IS USM. The developers initially thought it would be impossible to design such a lens and keep it under 1 kg in weight and have a compact design.
Lensrentals. com has posted a comparison between the EF 85mm f/1. 4L IS, EF 85mm f/1. 2L and the Sigma 85mm f/1. 4 Art. This comparison is not their usual scientific endeavour using OLAF, this is a bit more of a real world comparison by looking at images with our own eyes.
We’ve received word from various retailers that the Canon EF 85mm f/1. 4L IS USM has started shipping today or tomorrow. Demand is pretty high at the moment, and the first shipment may not cover all the preorders from the big retailers.
