The Most Amazing Macro With a Catch: OM System 90mm F3.5 Macro IS Pro Review

A camera lens isn’t considered a true macro until it is able to reproduce the subject in life-size at a 1x ratio. This 1:1 ratio is where most macro lenses stop, however. The few lenses that can produce a photograph two, four, or even five times its original size are typically manual focus only.

That is, until now. The new OM System 90mm f3. 5 Macro IS Pro can get close enough for to magnify something 2x — which because of the Micro Four Thirds sensor is actually equivalent to 4x. And the lens does it all with an autofocus motor, stabilization, and IP53-rated weather-sealing. Formally called the M. Zuiko Digital ED 90mm f3. 5 IS Pro, the lens is expected to begin shipping in March 2023 for a retail price of about $1,500. .
