Sony is a company that in some ways, came out of the blue when it comes to photography. Years ago they bought the Minolta camera business and therefore the Alpha lineup of lenses and cameras. Since then, they've made it evolve over time. thephoblographer.com »

The Sony a9 is an impressive looking camera. At 20 frames per second, it's able to shoot much faster than either of the professional sports cameras from the two big DSLR makers. The Sony is also smaller and lighter than these cameras (even with a battery grip added, to get nearer to matching their battery endurance), and has autofocus coverage across a much wider region of the frame than a DSLR AF system can offer. dpreview.com »

As much as we loved the a6300, it does have a few flaws, and one of the biggest and most-publicised was the overheating of the camera whilst recording long stretches of 4k video. Patent and technology consultancy Chipworks has published its iPhone 7 teardown and reveals that front and rear image sensors on the new Apple models are supplied by market leader Sony. This is not too much of a surprise as earlier iPhone models used Sony sensors as well. dpreview.com »
