Nikon USA has released its fourth and final teaser in its ongoing series to promote its forthcoming Z9 mirrorless camera system. As we’ve seen with each of the three previous teasers, this one only hints at what we can expect rather than outright telling us.
Nikon has also posted a countdown timer for its Z9 online launch event.
In the 30-second video, we see a photographer with a Nikon Z9 in hand with the unreleased Nikkor Z 100–400mm F4. 5–5. 6 S lens attached. As he’s shooting we hear what sounds like three bursts of photographs at a high rate of speed. Unlike the last teaser, where it was fairly easy to distinguish between each of the shutter actuations, this one is far more muffled. Even when stripping the audio from the clip and trying to slow it down, it’s difficult to say how many frames were captured in each of those bursts.
Nikon also shows example of what a scene would look like as captured through the viewfinder during capture. What we see is an image capture with no noticeable lag and zero blackout as the image bursts fire away. This suggests we’ll be seeing a viewfinder with a high refresh rate and zero blackout between shots.
Alongside the final teaser video, Nikon USA has launched a countdown timer on its website leading up to its online Z9 launch event, which is set to take place tomorrow, October 28, 2021, at 8am EST (UTC-05).
