The Sony a9 series is innovative — but it’s also overkill if you don’t photograph sports or wildlife. That’s changing with the Sony a9 III, however, because of a feature called a global shutter. A first for full-frame cameras, the global shutter inside the Sony a9 II solves a few issues that plague photographers beyond just capturing fast action.
Since we began the site, our objective here at The Phoblographer has been to help people feel good while educating them about the world and the photo industry. To achieve that, the team works hard to bring you its views, as well as the work of photographers within the community.
"It is a crazy good camera in a tiny package," professes Australian professional photographer Adam Pretty, about Panasonic's Lumix S5 digital camera. He was approached by the company to produce a set of promotional images for this camera, and Adam decided to go with skateboarding as the choice of sport to photograph with it.
"In the end, we are all just human beings, and that’s often forgotten with athletes. That is also the case as a photographer," says Dutch photographer Yannick Schurwanz. He was a former competitive athlete when an injury forced him to the sidelines for a few weeks.
We are big fans of the Sony a9 series of cameras here at The Phoblographer. These specialty cameras have continually blown us away with their impressive specs and the results they can help produce in real-world scenarios.
Sony, as usual, made huge waves when they first introduced the a9 in 2017. They entered the sports market that had been dominated by both Canon and Nikon for decades, and they staked their claim as a serious player in this field.
Skateboarding is among the activities that pair perfectly with photography, so we're sure many of you are drawn to capturing skate scenes once in a while.
