Sony FE 50mm F2.5 G, FE 40mm F2.5 G and FE 24mm F2.8 G Full-Frame E-mount Lenses

Sony have just unveiled three new full-frame lenses - the FE 50mm F2.

5 G, FE 40mm F2. 5 G and FE 24mm F2. 8 G.

Each of the new super-compact, aluminum-bodied G-series lenses comes equipped with a physical aperture ring with an on/off click switch, AF/MF switch and a customisable focus hold button, and each one is the same size and almost the same weight as the others, as well as having the same filter diameter.

We can't help feeling that Sony have been somewhat "inspired" by Sigma and the recent introduction of their identically-sized 24mm, 35mm and 65mm DG DN lenses, which are also very compact and sport a high-quality metal construction complete with an aperture ring.

All three lenses will be available in May priced at $800 /
