We’ve featured a few wildlife competitions in 2017, but none of them will make you laugh, smile and generally inspire like the Comedy Wildlife Awards. Founded by Tanzania-based photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE and Tom Sullam, the aim of the awards is to put a spotlight on wildlife conservation efforts while simultaneously injecting some humour into the world of wildlife photography.

This year’s competition received a staggering 3500 entries from 86 different countries and the images were assessed by a judging panel that included UK wildlife TV presenter Kate Humble, actor and comedian Hugh Dennis and wildlife photographer Will Burrard-Lucas.
