There aren't too many modern lenses these days that make you enjoy the process of photography. This is why many new manufacturers are giving younger camera owners the vintage experience by releasing beautiful manual focus lenses.
Macro photography opens up a whole new world of perspectives. I remember my first venture into this genre. I had to purchase a screw-on thread for my Nikon D300 to be able to reverse mount my Nikkor 50mm f1.
How I wish we had such relatively light telephoto lenses when I began my career in sports photography back in 2008. Back then inbuilt teleconverters were an unheard-of concept. Nikon wasn't the pioneer in this field, but they've certainly stepped up and released 3 such lenses within the last 5 years.
Nikon has had at least a couple of all-in-one lenses for their DSLRs. These have their shortcomings, but often prove appealing to amateurs, thanks to their large focal range capabilities. So far, only one of these lenses exists in the Nikon Z mirrorless lineup.
Whenever I read of a 35mm lens, the phrase "street photography" flashes across my eyes. And why not; 35mm is widely accepted as the quintessential focal length for capturing photographs of outdoor life around you.
I always enjoy the challenge that prime lenses throw at me. Forcing me to think and move creatively rather than zooming in and out, they make me re-imagine scenes in multiple ways. I honestly didn't know that the TTArtisan AF 27mm lens was designed for APS-C cameras - a segment I've avoided for over a decade now.
