The Olympus TG-6 is the World’s Most Modular Point and Shoot

The Olympus tough camera lineup has always been pretty darned good for what they are, and the new Olympus TG-6 is promising to be even better--if not take it over the top. The company's latest offering is pretty much as modular as a DSLR or Mirrorless camera without being a DSLR or Mirrorless camera.

Instead, Olympus allows photographers to have all the accessories they could possibly want. This camera is designed for the enthusiast that is afraid to bring their phone back from a swim and also always to be able to shoot great images underwater. However, it's also a great, pocketable option for the photographer going on an excursion of some sort into more remote regions. Unfortunately, Olympus hasn't given the camera a Four Thirds sized sensor; which is what I really wanted personally. But there are lots of other great things going on here. .

Review: Olympus OMD EM1X (Would You Do This to a Camera?)

When I first got word of the Olympus OMD EM1X, it was through reading rumors on the web. But they turned out to be true--and I've got very mixed feelings about that. This camera has a lot going for it in the form of fantastic ergonomics, weather sealing that I've never seen thus far in a camera, dual cards slots, and the addition of AI in the camera designed to help the photographer. thephoblographer.com »

Olympus E-M1X shooting experience

Introduction Out-of-camera JPEG. ISO 1600 | 1/1000 sec | F4. 5 | Olympus 40-150mm F2. 8 + 1. 4x teleconverter As water pooled on the camera, I held my composition. A motorcyclist rocketed into the frame and I watched as the camera immediately drew a box around the rider's helmet and began focusing as I half-pressed the shutter. dpreview.com »

Throwback Thursday: Olympus C-8080 Wide Zoom

Announced in 2004, the Olympus C-8080 Wide Zoom wasn't the first camera with a focal range starting at 28mm, nor was it the highest resolution camera at the time with its 8 megapixel CCD. What made the C-8080 interesting was the amount of work that Olympus put into the lens, claiming that it was designed to be on par with the Zuiko Digital lenses found on its DSLRs. dpreview.com »

Olympus TG-5 Arrives With OM-D Processing Power and 4K Video

Compact cameras may have had their appeal curbed in recent years, but many models can still easily justify their existence. Take the so-called lifeproof category, for example. With Nikon’s waterproof 1 AW1 mirrorless camera failing to make much of a splash here, the various compact alternatives still make up the majority of practical options for those that want to shoot in atypical conditions with something straight out of the box. digitalrev.com »

Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II: Hands-on First Impressions

On the last day of Photokina 2016 our team headed down to the Olympus stand with one thing in mind – to get our filthy paws on a prototype of the new Olympus flagship model, the OM-D E-M1 II. We had originally heard whispers in the halls of the Koelnmesse, the venue of this year’s convention, that Olympus actually had a physical model of the camera secreted away. digitalrev.com »
