The older Canon Powershot cameras are now being roared to life once again. We have seen that some of them are already quite popular (see here), while there are some that are gradually gaining momentum.
Not too long ago, we wrote an in-depth article analyzing the boom of third-party Chinese lenses in the industry. For the better part, these devices have been excellent in various aspects, such as the performance offered at a considerably lower price point and ease of use.
The excitement to see an upcoming lens or gear is often high, with many rumors swirling around prior to its imminent release. And why should they not? After all, new equipment might just be what a photographer is waiting to complete their arsenal.
The more glass pieces a lens has, the harder it is to move all those elements quickly. The Nikon Z 100-400mm f4. 5-5. 6 VR S doubles up on autofocus motors in order to quickly move its 25 different elements to bring the subject into focus.
Having a separate camera for photos and videos is one of my generation's “uphill both ways” moments. Photo and video are now so ingrained into one device that it’s getting difficult to remember the days of carting along a separate camcorder.
Your phone is incredibly capable as an overall device. But the camera just won't replace what a dedicated device can do for you. We're all very aware that zoom lenses are one of the biggest and best reasons to get a dedicated camera.
