Yesterday, the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) witnessed an unusual sight as they held a press conference following a series of city-wide protests regarding a controversial extradition bill. Without a doubt, Hong Kong is home to many stunning architectural wonders, a number of which continue to be the subject of many architectural and street photographers. Moscow-based Ekaterina Busygina is one of them.
It's been a while since we last put the spotlight on the architectural photography of Moscow-based Ekaterina Busygina. Since then, we found out that she has done quite a lot of traveling around Asia and had a bunch of snaps that showcase some architectural sights in a number of cities.
If you're a street or architectural photographer who prefers to depict the world in black and white, we bring another minimalist inspiration for you. Oscar Lopez, who brought us the punchy yet calming Waterfront Cityscapes of London and Hamburg, actually has more of these cityscapes captured in this exemplary style.
Many of the exemplary architectural photography we've seen are done in the style of minimalist and contrasty monochrome, with an emphasis on urban geometry. In his Waterfront Cityscapes series, however, Germany-based Oscar Lopez shows us a more calming take on the tried and tested style by combining long exposures and punchy black and white imagery.
“I think when I find something I’m interested in, I immerse myself totality, maybe even compulsively,” says Tim Smith as he speaks about the dedication he has when making his photographs. “I like to get out my comfort zone and to encounter the unknown”.
Dubai is home to some of the world's most iconic skyscrapers in the modern times, making it a prime playground for architectural photography. With the possibilities and ideas for portraying these buildings are endless, Hamburg-based photographer Carsten Witte had an interesting perspective to go with his straightforward architectural photography in the city.
