Fujifilm has announced it is raising the price of its photographic film and paper as a result of ‘soaring raw materials, transportation costs, etc. , as well as the decline in demand. ’ While the Japanese market will see the largest price increase, other regions will be affected as well.
In a rather simple press release shared on Fujifilm's website, the company says it has ‘been working hard to absorb costs by improving production efficiency and saving costs,’ but says ‘corporate efforts’ only can only go so far. According to a chart Fujifilm provided in the press release and embedded below, film prices for retailers in the Japanese market will increase between 20–60% while photographic paper and chemicals will increase by 10–20% and ‘about’ 10%, respectively.

Fujifilm North America Corporation has specified that while its prices will also increase, the price increases will be more modest. Specifically, Fujifilm North America Corporation tells us it has 'instituted a FUJIFILM Professional Film price update for our retailers of approximately 25% on April 1, 2022 and will be instituting an update in retailer cost of 10% for our QuickSnap One-Time Use Camera line on July 1, 2022.
