Photographer Florian Delalee has been exploring and sharing the beauty of China’s landscapes from the air using a camera drone. His aerial photos feature a dazzling diversity in colors and textures seen across the world’s 3rd largest country.
In October 2020, the family trip to the local zoo was interrupted by an unexpected telephone call – I had won the 2020 Landscape Photographer of the Year competition, a feat I had never imagined in my wildest dreams.
When it comes to landscape photography, being prepared is paramount to getting the picture-perfect shots. This doesn’t just involve picking out the best spots, but also making sure you cover all the other important stuff that you need to do before, during, and after the shoot.
Despite many (many) articles and advice videos and IG posts on the subject, many beginners still believe that the best thing they can do for their landscape photography is buy a better camera or lens.
Among our favorite approaches to landscape photography are those that invite the viewer to abandon the familiar and use their imagination instead to look at a certain location. It definitely shows in many of the alien-inspired vistas and even abstract-driven works we've featured in the past.
There's always something about abandoned houses and even ruins that make them perfect subjects for emotive photography. In fact, that's precisely why there's a genre -- urban exploration photography -- especially dedicated to it.
