Canon Made One of the Best Compact Cameras Years Ago

The Canon G1x Mk III came at a very unfortunate time for the company. When it was released, Canon was still at the top in sales. But they admittedly cared little to nothing for serious mirrorless cameras and every reviewer fully stated that while they make good cameras, everyone else was still ahead of them.

Around this maelstrom, the Canon G1x Mk III was greatly overshadowed by the Fujifilm X100 series, the Sony RX series, and more. But in 2022, I acquired this camera. And truthfully, it has to be one of the best cameras I've ever owned. .

Will Adding IBIS to Cameras Really Help Canon?

One of the most significant innovations when it comes to cameras over the last 5 or so years has been the introduction of in-body image stabilization. Sony, of course, has this technology in their a77 II DSLR, and so did Pentax in the K1, K1 II, but other companies, like Canon, have for some reason overlooked the technology and have instead opted to focus on lens image stabilization. thephoblographer.com »

Canon has enjoyed being top of the tree in the DSLR market for years and years, but most people agree that they were very late to the mirrorless party. This all changed however when Canon launched the brand’s first-ever full-frame mirrorless camera - the EOS R - in August 2018. digitalrev.com »

The Canon EOS 4000D might be the cheapest DSLR ever launched

Canon Europe has launched the EOS 4000D, a still more cut-down version of the EOS 2000D/T7 announced earlier today. The entry-level model will launch for around Canon's four-digit-D series cameras, from the 1000D (Rebel XS) onwards, have always hit aggressive price points in the market by recycling existing components and features—we called the original 1000D a "reheated" 400D/Rebel XT at the time. dpreview.com »

Why 2017 has been Sony’s Year

I’m not a Sony shooter, but I have to admit I’m starting to get a little jealous of those photographers who are. Nobody can reasonably argue that Sony hasn't enjoyed a successful year, with the brand sweeping the board at the recent EISA awards being the icing on the cake. digitalrev.com »
