Lens Review: 7Artisans 50mm f1.1 (Leica M Mount and Used on Sony FE)

I'll fully admit that I've become incredibly smitten with Leica M mount lenses from various manufacturers and the 7Artisans 50mm f1. 1 is no exception here. Though I'm not always in love with crazy super shallow depth of field necessarily, I'll admit that when it has both super creamy out of focus areas, lens flare, and it isn't overly sharp, that I'm pretty head over heels. thephoblographer.com »

All The Colors Of My Bath: 12 Bubble Bath Ideas That Prove I Have Too Much Time On My Hands

I'm not sure how this started to be honest, but a couple of years ago now I became obsessed with creating my own little bath sanctuaries after a long day at work. As time passes these seem to get more and more elaborate, but I can't deny that creating them is one of my favorite things to do! You can see more of my bath shots on Instagram but in the meantime please enjoy the following creations, with a few at the end that is yet to be shared on my Instagram account! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy creating them! Also, credit to @mywalkinthworld for originally writing a blog post about my bath shots. boredpanda.com »

How I built a large-format (8x10) video camera

Large format, for me, has always been the dream. Not for its ridiculously high resolutions—the 12 megapixels of my Sony a7S are more than plenty for me—but for its unique depth rendering. There is an enchanting quality to the depth of field produced by a huge chunk of vintage 8x10 glass that is near impossible to replicate on a smaller format, mostly thanks to the ridiculous equivalent aperture that would be required. dpreview.com »

“Struggling in America” Photo Book Aims to Tell Stories of Hardships and Homelessness in the US

The United States has long been a picture of wealth and progress for many. But the reality remains that a portion of the population are struggling, and the numbers are growing. Street photographers and documentary photographers have been working to raise awareness, but it remains a tricky subject to tackle for many of us, with the risk of stripping the homeless and the struggling of their dignity as human beings. thephoblographer.com »

Panasonic Lumix G9 vs Olympus OM-D E-M1 II

Introduction Announced late last year, the Panasonic Lumix DC-G9 gives Micro Four Thirds shooters looking for a high performance stills-oriented camera another option. Previously, the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II was more or less alone in its class, and remained unchallenged for over a year (unless you count the video-focused GH5 as a direct competitor). dpreview.com »

Nikon D850 vs Sony a7R III: Which is best?

Intro 2017 has seen the release of some interesting cameras, but the two that have generated the most buzz, the most traffic and the most questions are Nikon's D850 and the Sony a7R III. They're both rather exotic creatures, not quite as other-worldly as the D5 and a9, but hardly the sorts of cameras we're all going to rush out and buy. dpreview.com »
